Green Split Pea Soup Recipe
An easy canadian split pea soup recipe for the busy days. It is a very quick green split pea soup recipe, yet so delightful. Add some ham for more proteins! Could be done in slow cooker.

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 chopped carrots
- 3 cups frozen peas
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- pepper
- Heat oil in a large sauce pan
- Add the carrot and onion and cook them for 4-5 minutes
- Add the peas, broth and nutmeg
- Add pepper
- Cook covered at medium heat, simmer for 30-35 minutes or until desired consistency is attained, stir occasionally
