  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons ginger
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup solid vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup water
  1. Mix the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and ginger in a bowl. Reserve
  2. In a large bowl, cream the sugar and shortening together. Add the eggs and stir.
  3. Add molasses and stir thoroughly.
  4. Add the water and dry ingredients gradually while stirring for a couple minutes.
  5. Spoon the dough on a greased cookie pan and bake for 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees F.
