Homemade Orange Almond Salad Recipe

A low fat salad made of romaine lettuce, mandarin orange and slivered almonds. Replace honey with splenda for a low carb, more healthy recipe. You can add sliced chicken breast or boiled egg for a protein rich salad.

  • 8 cups romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 can drained mandarin oranges
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Salt & Pepper
  1. Mix all ingredients in a large salad bowl.
