Russian Beef Stew Recipe
An easy beef stew with sour cream and bacon. You may add some mustard and light cream for a tastier recipe. Serve this homemade stew with round potatoes and your favorite veggies.

6-8 servings
- 1 pound lean beef slices
- 3 medium onions, chopped
- 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 3 cups beef stock
- 1 cup sour cream
- 6 potatoes, diced
- flour
- Salt & Pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 Bay leaves
- Heat olive oil, over medium heat, in a large cooking pot. Pour the bacon and cook until crisp (around 8 minutes). Set aside.
- Cook onion for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, coat the beef slices with flour. Then set onion aside.
- Brown beef in oil until golden brown (around 15 minutes).
- Pour back the onion and bacon into your cooking pot then add vegetables.
- Add the rest of the ingredients except for the sour cream.
- Cook for 1 1/2 hour at 350 F. Add sour cream, mix gently and cook for 30 more minutes.
